Montauban. The Pandas will know where they are in Avignon
Second consecutive away meeting for the Montalbanais, against one of the contenders of the season.
SO Avignon-Montauban, today Sunday, at 3 p.m.
It is in the city of the Popes that the Pandas are traveling today for their second Elite 1 championship match, to face one of the contenders for the final title, SO Avignon. After a very convincing start against Saint-Jory, two weeks ago, the Pandas will already test themselves against the Avignon residents, who are favorites for the national titles of the season (championship and cup). A status that they perfectly honored during their first meeting in Arbent, won hands down (32-94). They therefore impatiently await the Pandas on their land, in this shock of the third day of the championship.
In Montauban, we are also moving with the firm intention of doing battle and interrupting a long series of defeats on Provençal soil in recent seasons. The clear victory of two weeks ago in Saint-Jory (18-88) has eroded confidence in the workforce of the Pandas, because beyond the score, it is the involvement and commitment of all the players. which satisfied Benoit Farges, their coach. A desire that will have to be increased tenfold this Sunday, facing an opponent who has the reputation of being very mobile and of offering high intensity throughout the duration of a meeting. The depth of the Montalbanese bank, a significant asset, will therefore be put to the test to meet the challenge in Avignon.
Confirm the beautiful arrangements
Among blacks and greens, we expect the usual leaders (Lemaitre, Martin, Alazard) to wear their
partners, and that the beautiful dispositions displayed by Seixas or Rose are confirmed against an opponent of a higher caliber.
For this summit duel, the coaches will be spoiled for choice, and will compose their team among the following players: J.-Y. Ducos, L. Alazard, D. Denulewaere, R. Pereira, N. Lemaître, J.-M Palue, Y. Martin, V. Rose, R. Viandier, A. Desnoues, H. Desnoues and J. Seixas.
We will therefore observe with attention the Montalbanese performance, and especially the result!
On the agenda. The next meeting will be the reception of the Catalans Dragons, for a double confrontation in Elite 1 and Elite 2, on Saturday December 18, at the Fobi0 (2:15 p.m. for team 2, which will make its big debut; 4:30 p.m. for the team 1, which will face the title tenant).
