Monaco curry Metz and sign a second victory in a row

Thanks to two goals in each of the two halves, Monaco clearly got the better of Metz (4-0) and won for the second time in a row in the league.
AS Monaco is back in the race for Europe. Niko Kovac’s men won brilliantly this Sunday against FC Metz in their lair at Stade Louis-II (4-0). This second success in two meetings allows the teammates of Kevin Volland and Wissam Ben Yedder, both scorers this afternoon, to get closer to European places. The Rocher team is only three points from second place, two days before the break.
Sofiane Diop, ace of precocity
Technically at ease from the kick-off, the Monegasques did not lag behind. Faced with hesitant Messins, the first hot situation of the match was enough for Sofiane Diop, after a failed release from Metz goalkeeper Alexandre Oukidja, to open the scoring with a clever strike from the right (1-0, 2nd). It was therefore the fifth goal this season in Ligue 1 for the playmaker of the France hopes team. Decidedly lacking in confidence (only one success in their last two games, two victories in all this season), the lack of coordination in the pressing of the Lorrainers ended up annoying their very nervous coach Frédéric Antonetti just before the break. And for good reason: after a penalty conceded by Kiki Kouyaté on Kevin Volland, the German international striker easily converted the offering (2-0, 44th).
FC Metz did not frame a single shot
Returning from the locker room, less than a few minutes better in the game of Garnets remained deceptive. Decidedly in verve this Sunday, Sofiane Diop once again found the light a few minutes later, with a class pass in the back of Fabien Centonze well exploited by Gelson Martins and converted into a goal by the Portuguese international striker (3-0 , 57th). Entered on the hour mark, Wissam Ben Yedder almost took advantage of an approximate reading of Oukidja’s trajectory to score one but identical to that scored by Pauleta for Fabien Barthez (PSG-OM, 2003-2004 season). False alert: while Kiki Kouyaté had pushed the ball back on his line, the Blues striker was signaled in an offside position, on this occasion (80th). But not on his next opportunity. Ben Yedder took advantage of a heel full of genius from Aleksandr Golovin to register his ninth but this season in Ligue 1, closely (4-0, 88th). The party was beautiful this Sunday at Louis-II, as Monaco scored four goals in a match for the first time this season, in all competitions. For FC Metz, the worst defense in the championship with Bordeaux and Saint-Etienne (37 goals conceded all three), the horizon seems to darken more and more.
