Malta’s anti-abortion law ‘saves lives’ – Life Network Foundation
Malta’s anti-abortion law “saves lives,” said Life Network Foundation chairman Miriam Sciberras during the organisation’s March for Life on Sunday afternoon.
Speaking at an event to raise awareness of the importance of promoting and protecting human life from conception in Malta, Sciberras said the anti-abortion law “defends the vulnerable.”
Citing the testimony of a Maltese woman who took the idea of having an abortion before giving birth to a child, Sciberras admitted that pregnancy can cause problems for women but “we need to help these people fight the problem, not by eliminating life, but by being there. for them and offer a network of help and solidarity that makes it easy to choose life… which is always better than choosing death. ”
In comments to Newsbook.com.mt, Sciberras said “once again we are here for the March for Life after we canceled because of Covid… we are here to deliver the message we use to continue to protect life from the conception. “
With the upcoming general election, Sciberras called on politicians to “note that life is cherished by each and every one of us and is a priority for us.”
The Life Network Foundation has appealed to the highest authorities to be loyal defenders of all human life in Malta and abroad.
“Through our presence at this event, we will be a sign of encouragement for each other to continue working tirelessly to make Malta a sanctuary of human life. Since ancient times, Malta has been a haven for the protection of human life since its conception. It is both an honor and a privilege for the Maltese to promote this principle in Europe, where the right to life is being eroded. This is true equality, “the foundation said in a statement.
“In Malta we cherish and care for all babies, including those born with disabilities. This is a value we should be very proud of. “
The foundation reiterated its call for assistance to pregnant women, during and after pregnancy, particularly in vulnerable situations.
“The Foundation offers practical support and assistance to women in unplanned pregnancies, in everything they may need. Assistance is also offered to women in the event of a negative prenatal diagnosis and to those seeking help to cure the trauma of abortion. ”
