Citizens of Malta and French Guiana Subject to Testing and Quarantine Rules When Traveling to Lithuania
Authorities in Lithuania have moved Malta and French Guiana from the yellow list, which includes medium-risk countries in terms of COVID-19, to the red list, which consists of territories heavily affected by the virus, having regard to the epidemiological situation therein.
Such a decision means that arrivals from the above-mentioned territories will be subject to a ten-day quarantine requirement and a testing process upon arrival in the Baltic State.
The new changes were confirmed by the Lithuanian Ministry of Health, stressing that the French region of Mayotte had been relocated to the yellow zone, reports SchengenVisaInfo.com.
The same Ministry clarified that the self-isolation requirements for arrivals from specific countries have also changed since 4 December.
“Travelers arriving from the Republic of Botswana, the Kingdom of Eschatov, the Kingdom of Lesotho, the Republic of Mozambique, the Republic of Namibia, the Republic of South Africa and the Republic of Zimbabwe will be required to isolate themselves for ten days. “ the statement reads.
In addition, the Ministry clarified that arrivals from the above-mentioned territories are subject to stricter entry requirements while stressing that the isolation requirement is mandatory regardless of whether travelers have completed the check-in process. their vaccinations or not.
In addition to Malta, Lithuania’s red list currently includes the following European territories: Ireland, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Greece, Iceland, Spain, Italy, Cyprus, Croatia , Latvia, Poland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Finland, Sweden, Switzerland, Hungary and -Germany.
All persons from the above-mentioned countries planning to travel to Lithuania will be obliged to follow additional entry requirements such as testing and quarantine rules.
However, people who have been immunized against the virus and have a valid vaccination document are not required to follow additional entry requirements.
Lithuania’s yellow list currently includes only the Mayotte of the French Republic, the ministry confirmed.
As for the green list, which includes countries considered safe based on their epidemiological situation, it does not currently include any countries.
