Toulouse passes very close to the hold-up
Toulouse fell to Dacquois who took their revenge for the first leg and ended, last night, a series of six defeats in the league.
At the end of a complicated month of November, enamelled by six setbacks, Dax-Gamarde, on the slippery slope in the standings, put an end to his fall. Dax Gamarde did not miss the opportunity this time to take a nice revenge on Toulouse Basket Club, winner of the first leg (97-69). Haut-Garonnais, big clients of the division, who never went to the party last night on the Dacquois floor, led from start to finish but came close to the hold-up at the very end of the meeting (72-70) .
A meeting that Dax started with his feet to the ground, thanks to a perfectly established defense and an inspired and effective attack, fueled in turn by Gosselin, Dauby, Biruta and Bosc (12-2, 3rd, then 17-6, 5th). Jostled, the TBC tightens its game and returns to the direction of travel, through its interiors Kouyaté and Anderson Jr (19-14, 10th). Each Landes breakaway attempt is immediately nipped in the bud, either by the long distance skill of Thimon and Aygalenq (26-24), or by the performance of Yangue and Solle, very effective out of the bench (37- 34). The Landais may fight like devils on each ball, they can not prevent the Toulouse to equalize (37-37, 18th), but do not take advantage of this rise in speed to drive the point home.
Still at +11 in the 30th, Dax-Gamarde is on the right track. The Toulousans who do not really have time to lose, put a pressure on (67-62, 35th). Dax-Gamarde secures himself thanks to some big defensive stops (69-62, 38th). Despite four throws left on the way, seven seconds from the buzzer, the TBC has only one possession behind (71-68). But Biruta’s 1 in 2 on the repair line following Anderson Jr’s fifth foul, will be enough to put a smile on the face of the Dacquois. To the great of TBC.
