Snow complicates traffic in southern Moravia. Most in Znojmo and Blansko – ČT24 – Czech Television
Administration and maintenance of roads in the South Moravian Region to ensure the danger of icing in some districts, especially in forest areas. According to camera recordings, the situation looks worst in the Znojmo region, where there is snow on some roads, similar to the higher parts of the Blansko region. Elsewhere, the roads are bare and wet.
Already in the morning, heavy snowfall and strong winds complicated traffic on the D8 motorway in northern Bohemia. After the morning closure, the operation was resumed first for passenger cars and then for trucks. The motorway towards Germany is already completely passable.
The snow also lay on the road I / 7 ascending from Chomutov to the border with Germany, in the Litoměřice or Louny region, or on the roads in the Ore Mountains, where cross-country skiers can go on the first groomed routes. There are snow tongues on the road I / 9 in Jiřetín pod Jedlovou in the Děčín region. “In all seven districts of the Ústí Region, there is snow or slush on the roads. With mild complications, it is still possible to keep the roads passable, but we urge great caution, “said the dispatcher of the regional administration and road maintenance.
Buses had problems in Prague
There were also complications in transport in Prague. In the morning, the Prague transport company and the Ropid company reported that buses had problems, for example, on the western outskirts of the town – in the Kopanina area, on the hill in Juliska, on the climb from Sedlec to Suchdol or in the direction of Roztoky. Some sections are passable even at the opposite end of the metropolis, in Klánovice or in the north between Ládví and Bulovka. During the morning, with a few exceptions, the roads are gradually being cleaned and traffic resumed according to timetables.
Traffic around the capital, for example on the Prague ring road or on the D5 motorway, also faced problems. Police in the entire Central Bohemian Region recorded a larger number of accidents. In the Mělník area, a delay of tens of minutes was expected on the bus lines. At night, the regional road workers drove mainly in the Kutná Hora region.
It is necessary to be careful on the roads in the Vysočina region, but the D1 motorway is passable. Icy snow lies in the higher parts of the Hradec Králové or Liberec region. It is snowing in the Českolipsko region and the roads around Liberec are frozen. After the autumn shutdown, on Saturday morning, only the lower section of the cable car to Sněžka, from Pec pod Sněžkou to Růžová hora, set off into the daily operation of the winter season. The upper section from Růžová hora to the top of the highest Czech mountain is not in operation due to strong winds.
What will the weather be like

The most abundant was in the northern half of the Central Bohemian Region and on the border of the Ústí nad Labem and Liberec Regions, where between seven and ten in the morning up to six centimeters of new snow fell in three hours.
The snow gradually moved to the east of the territory and stopped in Bohemia. In the evening, however, meteorologists expect another snowfall from the west, which will reach Moravia and Silesia in the middle of the night. Especially in the east and northeast of the Czech Republic, it will be more intense than it was during the morning and morning.
