Record whiskey at the auction in Florence: bottle sold for 107 thousand euros – Chronicle
Florence, December 4th 2021 – A bottle of Whiskey Macallan Red Collection aged 60 years, bottled in 2020 and marketed as a special edition, has been auctioned in recent days by the auction house pandolfini from Florence, for the figure of 107,800 euros. The bottle, explains the auction house, “has set the Italian record for a whiskey, which is equivalent to the record for any bottle auctioned in Italy”. The bottle was awarded a figure equal to more than double the estimate.
Also in these days the Florentine auction house had set a double record with a clock among the most sought after in the world: the Cartier Crash watch, awarded to 861,500 euros, world record for a Cartier Crash And Italian record with regards to watches in general. Among the precious ones, as happens more and more often i diamonds were the protagonists, mounted as solitaires or in necklaces, bracelets brooches, but also in combination and with colored stones. The latter union has decreed the top lot of the sale: one demi parure composed of a necklace with emeralds surrounded by old-cut diamonds forming a garland motif, accompanied by a pair of gold and silver earrings with emeralds and diamonds, which was awarded to 175,000 euros, at the end of a real one tussle among many telephone lines and many active buyers on Pandolfini Live.
