Portugal registers almost 1.5 million people with a booster dose
Dyesterday, over 56,081 people received a booster dose of the vaccine against Covid-19 in Portugal, according to the vaccination report released today by the Directorate-General for Health (DGS). There is still another 34,337 administrations of the flu vaccine to be highlighted.
Thus, in global terms, a total of more 94,420 inoculations of vaccines against Covid-19 (full primary and booster schedule) and against flu in the last day were registered, which represents 1,467,352 of people with booster, and 2,049,440 people protected from the flu.
In addition, 4,002 more people now have the complete primary vaccination schedule, which translates to a total of 8,593,155.
In terms of age groups, those aged 80 and over continue with the highest number of administrations (523,959), just above 70 to 79 years, with 484,671 people vaccinated. From 60 to 69 years old, they register 226,299 inoculations.
This Saturday, DGS also recommended vaccination against a Covid-19 in pregnant women from 21 weeks of gestation, through a publication on the Twitter social network.
The Directorate-General of Health, based on scientific evidence, recommends vaccination against COVID-19 in pregnant women, preferably after 21 weeks of gestation. The Red Lines monitoring report released this Friday gives an account of 34 cases associated with the Ómicron variant in Portugal, which “includes the cases sequenced for an Ómicron variant and the cases in which specific mutations, strong predictors of the Ómicron variant were identified” .
Today, the country has over 5,649 new cases of Covid-19 (a variation of 0.49%) and 22 deaths (a variation of 0.12%) in the last 24 hours, the highest numbers since February 6 and 10 March, respectively.
In accumulated terms, the country has a total of 1,163,001 infected and 18,517 fatal accidents since the beginning of the pandemic.
