on the day of the patron saint, the firefighters remember the fallen in service
As per tradition, on 4 December the Fire Brigade from all over Italy celebrate the “Santa Barbara”, Patroness of the National Corps. Also this year, although in the absence of the usual moments of conviviality in compliance with the protocols connected to the health emergency, the Rimini Command had an emergency remembering its fallen in service; in fact, the day began with the deposition of laurel wreaths at the monuments inside the barracks dedicated to them. The commemoration continued with the usual Eucharistic celebration which, unlike in previous years, took place at the Parish Church of Saints Apollinare and Pius V in Cattolica, in the presence of the Mayor Franca Foronchi and some representatives of the Administration, and of the Provincial Commander. Luca Manselli, escorted by a representation of officials and operational staff of the provincial offices. As explained by the Commander <>, the reference relates to the adaptation works of a portion of the former “Bus Terminal in Via Toscana (as a transitional site), where various works are currently being carried out with funds allocated by the Municipality of Cattolica and by the Ministry of the Interior. The Mayor ‘I participated with pleasure in this moment full of meaning for the Fire Brigade, we want to testify our closeness to these men who put themselves at the service of our community, sometimes putting their very life to repentance. What they do is not just a job, but a real mission. For our part, as an Administration, the commitment is to make suitable premises available that can guarantee that they perform their competition in the best possible way. The offices of Palazzo Mancini will confirm that from the middle of next January the portion of the building of the former bus terminal will be ready to welcome them and we will be happy to host them for as long as necessary for the construction of the new headquarters.
