Monaco and ASVEL in contact
On the eve of the Boulogne-Levallois match against Cholet, Monaco and ASVEL won against Châlons-Reims and Fos-sur-Mer. Limoges to curry Gravelines-Dunkerque when Bourg-en-Bresse in Paris dominated. Roanne, for its part, a surprise parquet Nanterre sur fils.
Monaco and ASVEL keep up the pressure. While Boulogne-Levallois will play this Sunday against Cholet, the two teams entered this season in the Euroleague won in the 10th Betclic Elite. On his floor in the Salle Gaston-Médecin, the “Roca Team” hardly beat Châlons-Reims. The Champenois hung on throughout the first half of the meeting, erasing a delay of twelve points to return to only one length at the break. Scottie Reynolds’ teammates (30 points, 7 assists) then took the lead on the return to the floor and have a time believed to be an achievement.
But the Monegasques, under the leadership of Rob Gray (18 points), were able to react in the last ten minutes to win by seven lengths (90-83). ASVEL, for its part, had less difficulty in Fos-sur-Mer. If the first ten minutes were hung, the teammates of William Howard (14 points) raised the tone in the second quarter, with a 13-0 which allowed the Villeurbanne to fly away. The 19-point gap at the break approached 30 units but the Provençaux resisted. Lasan Kromah’s teammates (24 points), however, lost 21 lengths (67-88).
The very bad evening of Gravelines-Dunkerque
Beaten by nothing in Nanterre during their last outing, Gravelines-Dunkirk players signed a “non-match” at Limoges. After a good start to the match, Marcquise Reed (11 points) and the BCM took to the water with a 13-0 which allowed the CSP to get comfortable with the score. On their launch, the Limougeauds reached a 30-point lead at half-time and, after a balanced third quarter, Assane Ndoye’s teammates (19 points) took advantage of the defensive northerners’ absences to win by 52 points (100-48) and go back to the seventh strike.
Bourg-en-Bresse, for its part, has its balanced record with a fifth victory in ten games against Paris (93-70) in a meeting that settled in the second quarter for the teammates of Hugo Benitez (17 points, 5 rebounds). An evening which also saw the series of two victories of the continuation of Nanterre come to an end. On the move in the Hauts-de-Seine, Roanne signed a third consecutive success (82-86) in a match long left by a Choir who never knew how to take shelter completely.
