Because of a possible health risk from germs, customers should return Lidl herring fillets from a northern German manufacturer.
Specifically, it is about the 256 gram pack “Nautica Edle Matjesfilets Nordic Style” as well as the product “Nautica Noble Matjesfilets Nordic style with onions” in the 236 gram pack and “Nautica Edle Matjesfilets Nordic style with garden herbs” (225 grams) of Hanseatic Delifood GmbH with the best before date 07.12.21 and the batch number L212451.

► According to Lidl, the products of Hanseatic Delifood GmbH were sold by the supermarket chain in the federal states of Baden-Württemberg, Berlin, Brandenburg, Hesse, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland and Saxony.
The Listeria monocytogenes germ has been detected in the food. It can cause severe stomach and intestinal diseases with symptoms similar to flu-like infections. Pregnant women, the elderly and people with a weakened immune system can get sick – up to blood poisoning and meningitis in severe cases. Unborn children are also at risk. “Because of this health risk, customers should pay attention to the recall and do not consume the affected food,” warned the office.
