Arrived this summer from Lyon, Jean Lucas is making his mark at AS Monaco. Holder in the last two Ligue 1 matches, against Strasbourg (1-1) and Angers (3-1), as well as against Real Sociedad (2-1) in the Europa League, the Brazilian midfielder is gaining confidence and flourishes within the Club, as he saw at a press conference at the reception of the FC Metz reception, this Sunday (3 p.m.).
In the last three games I’ve done good things for the team. I am not yet 100%, I can improve even more. In particular, I have to score and give decisive passes, but that will happen thanks to work.

His debut in Monaco
I think the adaptation was good, everyone welcomed me, although my debut on the pitch was not what I hope. I have done good things in the last few games, but I can still improve and I work everyday for it.

Learning the counter-press
This is the main difference that I noticed when I arrived, because before I did not play like that, my coaches did not ask me for such pressing. So I am working on this point because it allows us to recover the ball higher, in the opponent’s camp, in order to be dangerous and to score goals. The coach showed me things in individual sessions, I also watched videos at home, and I think I’m starting to get better at this counter-pressing.
Competition in midfield
AS Monaco have very good midfielders, with a lot of qualities. It’s not really competition because everyone is working to give their best for the Club. No matter who plays, we give 100% for the team. I can improve by working with such players, and I can also bring things to them.
