First weekend of December, with cold temperatures but warmed by the Christmas atmosphere that reigns in many corners of the city, from the center to the suburbs.

Time for Christmas shopping, and there is no shortage of opportunities in the city where you can find many special ideas. There are many craft and vintage markets, where you can buy unique items or where you can give solidarity to those who need it most. Christmas lights and attractions for a magical weekend for children and the whole family in one of the main parks of the city. Christmas is approaching and it’s time to taste one of the typical recipes of this period, the panettone. Do not miss the appointment with many shows in various theaters of the city and the art exhibitions, which can only be visited for a few weeks.

What to do in Rome on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th December

The tastings are back, that of the Christmas time of the Panettone Festival in Rome and Lazio at the Boscolo Circo Massimo and that of beer with a party dedicated by Eataly. At Ragusa Fuori shopping becomes Christmas time with the ChristmasLand market in Rome, and for a purchase that leaves its mark and is in solidarity there is the Christmas Space at the Emergency Info Point. Space for exhibitions, with Sebastião Salgado’s shots at the Maxxi Museum and with a journey to discover Caravaggio’s “Judith and Holofernes” discovered at Palazzo Barberini. The tastings

Sunday 5 December – from 11:30 to 19:30 – Panettone Maximo 2021 – Agrimontana, the third edition of the Panettone Festival in Rome and Lazio, will be held at the Boscolo Circo Massimo. An enchanting high-ranking Christmas market that will include, in addition to the panettone tasting counters, show cooking by great catering pastry chefs and in-depth talks on the theme of craftsmanship. The Beer Festival at Eataly ends on Sunday. Saturday is in the Cargo Burger Lab program with many different and very tasty sandwiches. Sunday is the time for Made in Food and Steak Sandwich. There will also be selections of bottled beers at shelf prices and guided tours of the Brewery, to get to know the production that takes place on the first floor of the Roman store.

The craft and vintage markets

The Pigneto Vinyl Fest is back at the Ellington Club, with many vinyls but also vintage and second hand proposals. During the day there will be music, played strictly on vinyl and brunch combined with mixology cocktails. The second Swap Market dedicated to women, men and children arrives on Sunday in the Together Mansion spaces in Trastevere. A perfect event to exchange clothes and accessories, and find sustainable Christmas gifts. In Castelnuovo di Farfa, in the cloister of the Abbey, on Sunday there is “Per le vie del Borgo”, the antiques, crafts, modern antiques and vintage collectibles market. The shows at the theater

At the Ambra Jovinelli Theater the show “The invisible husband” is staged, with Maria Amelia Monti and Marina Massironi. A hilarious comedy about the disappearance of our relationship life. The two protagonists accompany us with their very personal comedy on a journey that gives the chills for how hot and current it is. At the Teatro degli Eroi the director Marco Balocchi stages “The betrayal of Don Quixote”, a polite, amusing, melancholy text, with ironic metateatral incursions that reveal its scenic play. At the Ex Deposito Atac in Piazza Ragusa there is Christmas Land, colorful and magical stands where you can look for gifts for relatives and friends.
