Dhe patches of frost and ice are making the roads temporarily slippery in places this morning. The sky will become very cloudy with the arrival of the first rains in the morning over the west of the country, according to forecasts by the Royal Meteorological Institute (IRM). Belgium is also placed on yellow alert by the MRI until 12 noon this Friday. Then, the precipitation zone progresses inland.
Once in the south-east of the country at the end of the day, it will first be temporarily snow or slush or even freezing rain, then rain during the evening. Only the regions located on the heights (above about 500 m altitude) retain snowfall. The maximum will be between 0 ° C in the Ardennes and 6 ° C at sea. The wind will come moderate to quite strong from south to southwest with peaks of 60 km / h.
Next night, the cloudiness will remain and new periods of rain will arrive from France. With the arrival of softer air, even on the heights of the Ardennes, precipitation will eventually fall in the form of rain. The minima, most often reached at the beginning of the night, will be between 1 ° C in the Hautes Fagnes and 6 ° C at sea. The moderate southerly wind will become weak from the southwest or of variable direction.
On Saturday, it will be very cloudy to overcast with temporarily still some rain or drizzle in the east. The milder air having invaded our regions, the thaw will begin on the relief. In the course of the afternoon, a new zone of precipitation composed of rain or showers will cross our country from west to east. In the late afternoon, drier weather will return with clearings from the west. The maximum will be between 3 and 5 ° C on the heights of the Ardennes and 6 to 8 ° C in the plains. The weak south-westerly wind will become moderate, in the sea rather strong, westerly.
