What have you changed on Socrates Street?
After the reconstruction, Sokratesa Street will be narrowed to one lane in each direction to a width of 3.25 meters. There will be a parking space next to it, once on one side of the street, sometimes on the other side of the street. The bicycle path that runs on one side of Socrates will be moved away from the pavement into a secured lane. A bicycle path will also be built on the opposite side. The website for the city will be rebuilt. It appears separated by a two-meter-wide asylum, so that pedestrians can go between the roads.
Residents have been demanding changes for several years and have alarmed that it is dangerous for the warehouse. The road workers had the street for local funds, but there was not enough money. The construction was accelerated only by the tragic drink of October 20, 2019, in which a young man was hit by a bmw driver on the lanes. As reported on tvnwarszawa.pl, at the end of November, Krystian O. was sentenced to seven years and months in prison. The court also ruled a 15-year driving ban. The prosecutor himself, by execution, was responsible for the death of a potential child, but the court rejected the qualification and sentenced him on health grounds.
