The young bass players managed to beat the leading team of USK Prague
BK Strakonice – USK Prague 60:82 (23:33). Scoring and playing: Kotrcová Karolína 18, Košáková Eliška 16, Kotrčová Linda, Grossová Karolína, Karoľová Michaela, Pavlíčková Karolína 4, Malířská Kateřina, Mlnaříková Nikola 3, Malířská Tereza, Topinková Natálie 2, Veselková Lucie and Polenová Isabela.
We had a double match with the best team of our group. The Strakonice students started the home match fearlessly, keeping up with the favorite throughout the first quarter. In the second quarter, the visiting players bounced back by up to 10 points, mainly because the home basketball players did not change their shooting opportunities. After a half-time break, the players from Otava returned to the game with vigor and in the 6th minute of the third quarter the difference was only 4 points. The end of the match was directed by the away team and the final score difference is too cruel for the home team and does not correspond to the course of the game itself. The best player of the home team was Karolína Kotrcová, who also added offensive support to the great defensive activity, which managed to remel it in many end points.
USK Praha – BK Strakonice 54:65 (27:27). Scoring and playing: Kotrčová Linda, Košáková Eliška 15, Kotrcová Karolína 12, Karoľová Michaela 9, Pavlíčková Karolína 8, Malířšká Tereza, Mlnaříková Nikola, Grossová Karolína 2, Veselková Lucie, Malířská Kateřina, Topinková Natálie.
The retaliation was started by the Strakonice pupils militarily as a great determination to retaliate against their opponents on Saturday. In the third minute of the second quarter, the Strakonice students got into a ten-point lead, which they unfortunately failed to hold. The half-time score was even, but they managed to take their side again by a successful start to the third quarter. The desire of our bass players to win was far stronger than the rivals, who had not yet known the bitterness of the defeat. Therefore, even the final match of the home team did not deprive the players from Otava of great joy from the deserved victory. Throughout the match, the Strakonice juniors presented themselves with enormous physical commitment, huge fighting spirit and, most importantly, a team transition, which was based on a fast to attacking half and an even faster return to defense.
