The number of patients in intensive care due to Covid-19 in the Nord and Pas-de-Calais has exceeded the peak of the 4th wave

The figures concerning the occupancy rate of intensive care beds and the incidence rate in Hauts-de-France are worrying.

The epidemic recovery continues and the incidence rate exceeds 300 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in Hauts-de-France. Pas-de-Calais has a significant link, going from 219 cases per 100,000 inhabitants to 308 cases currently, all in one week.
In the North, 432 people are hospitalized, against 352 last week. In Pas-de-Calais, on the account 135 patients against 153 over the same period. The peak of the 4th wave was 89 patients in intensive care in the North in September and 22 patients in Pas-de-Calais. However, these figures are lower than those recorded during the 3rd wave (155 in Pas-de-Calais in April 2021). Across Hauts-de-France, 487 patients occupy the 527 beds reserved for intensive care: 142 due to Covid, 354 for other pathologies.
