Record: “The play of colors doesn’t get us any further now”
Tyrolean governor Günther Platter (ÖVP) took a position on “Tirol Live” on Friday after the government was reshuffled. “Sebastian Kurz did a very good job, Karl Nehammer will continue on this path,” said Platter. He suggested Nehammer because you can rely on him. He has a clear line in the area of performance and safety, but also in other areas. In the pandemic, in particular, you need someone at the top who can make decisions.
When asked about rumors about a possible replacement of Economics Minister Margarete Schramböck (ÖVP), Platter surprised in denial that there had been a discussion about it. You will remain in office. Whether the governors had now reached for more power and whether the ÖVP is now more black than turquoise again, Platter said: “These interplay of colors do not get us any further now.” It is about cooperation between countries and governments and expects to be “fully involved” and to make clear decisions. But that was also the case under Kurz.
The ÖVP has shown that it can act quickly, said Platter with a view to today’s party executive. The interaction between Kurz had a “special quality”. After discussions, there were decisions. Communication will work well under Nehammer, who will involve the countries in decisions.

Help in life and the challenges in Corona times
Friday is International Day of People with Disabilities. On this occasion, Georg Willeit, the managing director of Lebenshilfe Tirol, was a guest in the “Tirol Live” studio. He spoke about the worries, needs and wishes of his around 2000 clients and about the challenges that the Lebenshilfe team has had to face for almost two years in dealing with the corona pandemic.
Thanks to the great commitment of the employees, however, it was possible to remain a healthy organization, to keep offers open and to continue to accompany people who are dying, said Willleit.

Red Cross President: Conspicuous aggression in test streets
Günther Ennemoser, President of the Tyrolean Red Cross, can also sing a song about the latter, the challenges caused by the coronavirus. He reports, among other things, of pent-up frustration in test roads. “Our employees are encouraged to do their job and remain friendly, even if it is sometimes difficult,” says Ennemoser.
He also clearly advocates compulsory vaccination – also for Red Cross employees.
