Munich public prosecutor’s office is investigating ex-MAN works council chief
Munich The Munich public prosecutor’s office is investigating the former MAN works council chairman Athanasios Stimoniaris. It is about the allegation of infidelity, said a spokeswoman on Friday, confirming a report by “Business Insider”. Several high-ranking managers were also among the accused, including the former MAN HR manager Martin Rabe. The spokeswoman for the public prosecutor’s office did not provide any further information, citing tax secrecy. At MAN no one could initially be reached for comment.
The Business Insider report is investigating the private use of company cars. The managers worked together so that the works council boss could use company vehicles privately, it said, citing a MAN investigation report. In order to cover this up, the company vehicles’ logbooks were manipulated.
Stimoniaris took the company by surprise in August. MAN did not provide any more precise information about his departure at the time. Rabe left a few weeks later when the reason given was that he wanted to take parental leave.
