Lantern Festival, musical, artisanal Christmas market… What to do in Toulouse this weekend?

The weather will be rainy in Toulouse this weekend. These Saturday December 4 and Sunday December 5, 2021, Meteo France expect a few showers. Rain is to be expected this Friday evening. You can, among other things, make your gifts at the artisanal and solidarity Christmas market, attend a musical at the Zénith or see the illuminations of the Lantern Festival.

Opening of the artisanal Christmas market

If the traditional Christmas market opened its doors last weekend, another will set up tomorrow on the alleys Jules-Guesde. It is the artisanal and solidarity Christmas market. About forty artisans, associations, cooperatives and companies will offer responsible and solidarity gifts. This year, many artisans from the region will be present.

The artisanal and solidarity Christmas market is open every day from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and until 9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. It will close its doors on December 19.

The photographer Jean Dieuzaide in the spotlight

The illustrious Toulouse photographer Jean Dieuzaide would have been 100 years old this year. On this occasion, a large retrospective exhibition is dedicated to him. Named Jean Dieuzaide, 60 years of photography, it is visible in the refectory of Convent of the Jacobins from this Saturday. The people of Toulouse will be able to discover sixty years of history in images through the lens of Jean Dieuzaide.

Dalí in the water, The Little Girl with the Rabbit, or The Gypsy of Sacromonte… In total, the exhibition has 148 works and 81 documents, including photographs unexploited until today. It is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The full price is 4 euros and reduced to 2.50. It’s free for students and under 18s. The health pass is compulsory.

A musical at the Zénith

Notice to Musical Fans. I will love you arrival at the Zénith de Toulouse this Saturday. This show gives pride of place to the hits of Michel Sardou. Iconic songs and modern lyrics await spectators. The musical promises to take you from Paris to New York.

She recounts the crossed destinies of young French people over several decades, from the Kennedy years to the present day. The singers, actors and dancers will transcribe their lives from 20 years to 40 years later. The show starts at 9 p.m. The price of seats is between 35 and 79 euros. Travel to China from Blagnac

This is undoubtedly the event not to be missed at the end of the year. This Wednesday 1ᵉʳ December, the Lantern Festival a illuminated the Blagnac sky for the first time. Until now it took place in Gaillac in the Tarn. After two months of installation, the monumental light sculptures were able to show themselves to the spectators. In all, 45 paintings were imagined and installed in the eight hectares of the Ritouret park.

They represent the symbols of traditional Chinese culture, but also the history of the city of Blagnac through aeronautics. 2,500 giant lanterns have been placed on both sides of the lake. Pandas forest, scenes of Chinese life, mythical animals, the most beautiful historical monuments in China… It’s a real spectacle that awaits you from 6 pm to 11 pm. Tickets are from 16 euros. It’s free for children under 11. The health pass is compulsory.

A visit to the Toulouse lanterns

We continue in the lanterns with this guided tour. This Saturday, you will see Toulouse in a new light. Paysdoc agency offers the firefly walk this Saturday evening. For two hours, a guide-conference will make you discover another face of the pink city through the lights that illuminate its monuments and facades.

For this, you will be provided with paper lanterns. These will reveal many secrets to you in Toulouse. The visit starts at 6 p.m. To take advantage of this visit, you must reserve your place on the website of the Paysdoc agency. It is priced at 12 euros per adult and 6 per child. The meeting point will be communicated by email 24 hours in advance.
