Italy-San Marino: Cdm, ratification and execution of the amending protocol for the radio-TV collaboration agreement
Rome, 03 Dec 18:55 – (Nova Agency) – The Council of Ministries, on the proposal of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Luigi Di Maio, approved a bill ratifying and executing the amending protocol of the radio and television cooperation agreement between the government of the Italian Republic and that of San Marino, with attachment dated 5 March 2008, done in Rome on 27 September 2021. This was reported by Palazzo Chigi in a note, according to which the protocol in question makes a series of amendments to the Agreement on radio and television matters between Italy and San Marino, made in Rome on March 5, 2008 and in force on December 7, 2015, with the aim of redefining the structure of radio and television, granting the implementation of 5G in Italy. In this context, channel 51, the use of which on part of the Italian territory has been recognized by the Republic of San Marino, must be shut down by the latter within the last quarter of 2021, to allow the Italian State to dedicate the relative frequencies. to the new 5G system in compliance with the deadlines. In the context of friendly relations between the two States and in the common interest in continuing cooperation in the radio and television sector, the note states, the amending protocol commits Italy to the conclusion of an agreement between San Marino Rtv and a national Italian operator at in order to guarantee the transport of a San Marino Rtv program on a network that provides national coverage in the Italian territory.
