Freiburg-Gottéron – Bern 4: 3 nV
Friborg-Gottéron kept the better end to themselves in the Zähringer derby and extended their lead in the table. In the 4-3 win nV Ryan Gunderson shot the home team in the first minute of extra time with a huge hammer to victory. The derby was previously under similar auspices: Both teams had recently suffered a defeat after four league wins in the series. Ramon Unterander (8th) and Call Andersson (19th) from a likely angle ensures the somewhat surprising lead. Sandro Schmid shortly before and Jordann Bougro shortly after the first tea break equalized the game. Samuel Walser brought the sold-out BCF-Arena to a boil in the 54th minute: With a precise shot in the high corner, he gave Freiburg the lead. Ramon Untersander stoked Bern’s hopes in the 58th minute at least and saved the guest a point. But because Gunderson’s slapshot found its way into the Berner Tor shortly after the extension whistle, the Freiburg happy ending was still a fact.
ZSC Lions – Biel 5: 2
Biel’s defeat against Geneva-Servette on Tuesday seemed to be on the stomach at the beginning: In the guest appearance against the ZSC Lions, the Zealanders drew a catastrophic first third. With the 2-0 lead of the lions by Marcus Krüger (7th) and John Quenneville (18th), the Bielers were well served in the starting phase. After half of the game it worked on the other side: Mike Künzle (35th) and Damien Brunner (45th) were concerned to equalize. In the end, however, the host also cheered. Sven Andrighetto provided a perfect pass from Denis Malgin in the goal of Bieler 6 minutes before the final siren in the slot, in particular Reto Schäppi increased just two turns of the pointer later. Justin Azevedo made the win perfect with a hit in the empty net. Thanks to the three points, the Lions keep up with the top 5 group.
Lausanne – Davos 2: 3 nP
Like Biel, HC Davos also started looking for rehabilitation. Three days after the painful 6-1 defeat against SCL Tigers, the start of the guest game at Lausanne failed. Christoph Bertschy put the home team in the lead after just 82 seconds. Damien Riat canceled the equalizer by Axel Simic after half of the game. The Davos race for the next equalizer should last until shortly before the end. 35 seconds were left when Andres Ambühl succeeded in the majority and forced extra time. No more goals fields. In the penalty shootout, the Davosers kept their better nerves – and thanks to the additional point they heaved themselves back on a level with Zug and the Lakers.
Geneva Servette – Lakers 2-0
In the duel between the negative and the positive surprise team of the season, the negative can celebrate three earned points. Geneva-Servette made up ground on the bottom line thanks to a 2-0 win. Inspired by the win against Biel on Tuesday, Geneva started the game better and took the lead in the 5th minute thanks to Stéphane Patry’s first goal of the season. However, it was to remain the only goal for a long time – the intensity gained the upper hand at the expense of the quality. Geneva goalie Gauthier Descloux could not celebrate a possible shutout. He conceded a goal, but had to be transported off the ice on a stretcher a few minutes before the end. Simon Le Coultre made the decision with an empty nice.
