After an alcohol ride on the school car park in Salzburg: SPÖ demands barriers and better lighting
A drunk Salzburg man approached a teacher and touched a parked car. The SPÖ is now calling on city councilor Martina Berthold to increase security in the parking lot of the MS Lehen.
SPÖ municipal councilor Sebastian Lankes calls on city councilor Martina Berthold (Greens) to set up an electronic barrier for the parking lot of the MS Lehen in the city of Salzburg – including a demarcation. Better lighting is also needed to improve the feeling of security in the parking lot. The demands coincide with the wishes of the teachers.
The car driver does not have a valid driver’s license
The background: On Wednesday morning, a 51-year-old from Salzburg drove his car across the school’s playground and then across the forecourt of the school on Siebenstädterstrasse. While doing so, he ran into a 61-year-old teacher in his car. These suffered minor injuries. The man then touched a parked car with his vehicle. An alcohol test showed a value of 0.86 per mille. The man does not have a driver’s license. In the course of the accident recording, the police also established that the license plates attached to the car had been stolen.
“The situation could have turned out worse”
Sebastian Lankes emphasizes: “If schoolchildren had been on the meadow or in the parking lot at that time, the situation could have turned out even worse. Even the teacher overlooked the driver at first and hit him. He might not have seen a child at all. “
