24 hours of lights at the Venoix stadium in Caen and many activities for the Telethon

A Caen (Calvados), it’s a bit like Telethon lights for this 2021 edition. For 24 hours, from this Friday December 3, 2021 at 7 pm, bikes will turn on the velodrome from the Venoix stadium. “And we ask participants to light their two-wheelers as much as possible,” explains Mickaël Richomme, professional firefighter at the Ifs barracks. The entire event is organized by the Caen firefighters.
Miss France at kick-off
Every hour, a team of five to ten runners will set off. “We opened this challenge to the public, and clubs have joined us such as the Caen Triathlon”. On the basis of free participation, each cyclist is invited to make a donation for the Telethon. The general public can come and take part in this unprecedented course from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Requirements: chopper of his bike, at least one light and a helmet.
And last minute surprise: it’s Amandine Petit which will kick off this unique course. Miss France 2021 is in Caen these days, with the 29 candidates for the 2022 crown which will be awarded at the Zénith on Saturday, December 11, 2022.
Many animations
On the sidelines of this sporting event, a “Telethon village” has also been set up throughout the duration of the event. On Saturday, several permanent activities will be offered to the general public: circus workshop for children, musical entertainment (DJ), “Saving gestures” workshops, exhibition of old firefighters’ vehicles, photo booth, catering and refreshment bar, and lottery wheel. free.
Among the highlights of the day, a “celebrity race” with former professional cyclists such as Raymond Martin, Thierry Marie and Vincent Barteau, is scheduled for 3pm.
Children must put out the fire
To this must be added a new game for children aged 3 to 10 years old. “From 10 am to 7 pm, we offer them to play firefighters. “To this end, a route is offered to them. They will start by dressing as a firefighter, with a helmet to avoid shocks to the head during the intervention! Then by duo, they will then start in intervention.
“Then it’s up to them to extinguish the fire and save the name engulfed in flames,” explains Mickaël Richomme, professional firefighter at the Ifs barracks. They will finally have to evacuate him on a small stretcher. A participation of 2 € is requested for each child, always in favor of the Telethon.
