The recovery accelerates, Siena pulls with the pharmaceutical – Chronicle
The recovery accelerates in Tuscany, but the occupation is struggling to catch up. The data emerges from the Ires-Cgil study presented yesterday in Florence which photographs a patchy region with areas (Florence in the lead) in a clear restart and others in deep crisis. The study estimates a growth of the Tuscan GDP for the current year equal to 6.2%: a figure higher than the national average of 0.2 points which also bodes well for 2022. At the end of 2021, the per capita GDP of region to stand at around 29,700, with an increase of 1,700 euros compared to 2020. to stagnate in 2021 (from -1.3% to -0.3%), improving in 2022 (+ 1.2%), but going to position itself on a level below the pre-crisis figure (-1.4%). “The end of 2020 and the beginning of 2021 have brought something that is more in Tuscany than anywhere else, but which must be consolidated” said the president of Ires Toscana, Gianfranco Francese. “The Florentine area is doing very well thanks to services and exports, and Siena is also holding up, driven by the pharmaceutical industry” explained Roberto Errico from Ires. “Despite the recovery – adds Claudio Guggiari for the CGIL Tuscany – there are too many forms of insecurity, and with precariousness there is no development”.
