The European Union has removed two more countries from the “green list”, Ukraine remains “red”
The EU Council decided today to separate two more countries – Jordan and Namibia from the list of states and territories, with those national governments recommended by the EU, lifted restrictions on small growth in a pandemic, while Ukraine was still not part of “Green” list on the state of the epidemiological situation in the country.
According to Ukrinform, the relevant EU decision has been announced today European Council website.
“In response to the recommendations on the appropriateness of temporary restrictions on the highest price increase in the European Union, the EU Council has updated the list of countries, individual administrative regions and territorial entities for which price restrictions should be lifted. In this case, Jordan and Namibia are excluded from the list, “the statement said.
Therefore, according to the principles and conditions set out in the EU recommendations, from December 2, 2021, EU member states refuse to cancel the lawsuit to limit borders for citizens of the following countries: Argentina, India, Bahrain, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Kuwait, New Zealand, Peru, Qatar, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates, Uruguay, China (subject to reciprocity).
Travel is also a regular part of China’s special administrative regions: Hong Kong and Macao. Taiwan is also included in such territories under special conditions.
As it turned out, on June 30, 2020, the EU Council adopted recommendations to increase the effectiveness of temporary restrictions on a permanent basis to the European Union. The relevant list of countries is regularly reviewed and updated by the Council of the EU.
The criteria for determining the country of these EU members may be abolished, updated on May 20. They take into account epidemic events as well as general measures taken to combat COVID-19.
Countries associated with the Schengen area (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland) are also participants in these recommendations.
The EU removed Ukraine from the “green list” for travel on November 9 this year after the end of the epidemiological situation in the country, so Ukrainians can not work in the EU only “substantial” travel – one that is related to acute or professional needs, and at the same time anti-epidemic rules and restrictions.
At the same time, on November 25, the European Commission issued a proposal to update the rules of admission of citizens to their country in the EU in a pandemic. The new rules will be implemented from March 1, 2022, after adoption by the EU Council.
Accordingly, people who have completed a full course of vaccination with vaccines and have valid COVID certificates, the EU will be able to increase the territory of the EU without hindrance and will not be required to undergo additional tests or quarantine regardless of where or country.
