Like all territories, we have strengths and weaknesses. The region improves in health, education, gender equality, infrastructure and innovation, but is delayed in water, land cover index, social participation and air pollution.
This is what emerges from the second edition of the Report of the Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development. The study measures progress relating to the so-called 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, approved by the UN, which sets 17 objectives and many small objectives to be achieved in the environmental, economic, social and institutional fields.
The presentation was also attended by the Minister of Infrastructure and Sustainable Mobility, Giovannini.
Let’s start with the positive notes. In the Region there is no alcohol abuse, smokers, physical activity and despite the pandemic improves life expectancy. The number of graduates and graduates is increasing, as is the share of women in the regional council. Finally, energy productivity and the share of separate waste collection are sold.
We come now to the painful notes. The report highlights an increase in people living in absolute poverty – the pandemic has nothing to do with it, the figure comes to 2019.
Yes, the seats on local public transport, the share of protected land areas and the efficiency of the water distribution networks. The province of Udine is characterized by high energy consumption. Finally, the decline in cultural and political participation is also worrying.
