After the surprising withdrawal of Sebastian Kurz (ÖVP) from politics, Salzburg state politicians also spoke up today. Governor Wilfried Haslauer (ÖVP) spoke in an initial reaction of a “personal decision” that should be respected.
“Sebastian Kurz’s personal decision to completely withdraw from politics must be respected. Sebastian Kurz has shaped it since he entered politics in 2011. As party chairman, he modernized the Austrian People’s Party, and the People’s Party won elections in the I thank.” To him personally for his commitment as Federal Chancellor and party chairman. In this way I am able to express my opinion to him and his family.
Egger: The People’s Party should reinvent itself
The Salzburg SPÖ boss David Egger also spoke up immediately after Sebastian Kurz’s withdrawal became known: “I wish Sebastian success as a family man and a good life away from politics. Unfortunately, I can’t think of any positive words to say about his political career at the end of his nun. Sebastian Kurz is not one of those former chancellors who would have had a positive impact on Austria. It is to be feared that the Turkish system will not end there. For the ÖVP this would now be the chance to reinvent itself as a people’s party. I am convinced that time will unearth many gruesome things about the allegedly corrupt Sytsem Kurz. “
We will add further answers here.
