Lisbon, Wonderland: Christmas fair returns with activities until January
After being canceled because of the Covid-19 pandemic last year, the biggest Christmas fair in the Portuguese capital is back. Until January 2nd, Parque Eduardo V, in the center of the city, measured the Wonderland Lisboa, with 10 thousand m2 of decoration for the public.
The event’s Christmas market has 60 exhibitors from the most diverse areas, such as clothing, decoration items, Christmas souvenirs and food products such as honey, sweets and hams. The stalls with typical food and drinks are also distributed throughout the park, such as a traditional sour cherry, a cherry liqueur produced in the country and bread with sausage.
Another attraction is the giant wheel with a height of 30 meters, which provides a privileged view of Lisbon and the carousel. An ecological ice skating rink is another activity available to the public, in addition to taking the train from Natal through the streets of the park.
Wonderland also contains a village of Santa Claus, or Father Christmas, as it is called in Portugal. Another attraction aimed at children is the Kids Space, where creativity workshops are held.
Entry to the event is free, with separate payment in some of the settings, such as ice skating and the Ferris wheel ride. According to a statement from the city of Lisbon, a presentation of the vaccination certificate recognized in the European Union (EU) is required for entry, or a negative laboratory test with a negative result.
