Le World Impact Summit s’ouvre ce jeudi à Bordeaux
The fourth edition of International Summit of Solutions for the Planet or WIS (World Impact Summit) opens this Thursday in Bordeaux. 5,000 participants are expected over the two days. This meeting and these conferences make it possible to reflect on the solutions that can be put in place by companies against global warming.
This year, the theme of water is highlighted by the organizers. Nicolas Pereira, the founder of WIS and municipal councilor of the city of Bordeaux explains this choice: “The various disasters that we have seen on a global scale have shown that this resource was particularly in danger all over the world and that access to water will become more and more difficult due to the consequences of the change. and global warming of Adour-Garonne water, which is our partner in this great cause of water on a global scale “.
Four other themes
But this summit is not only the great cause of water. Four other themes are presented: the zero carbon objective, the circular economy, the sustainable revival of territories and biodiversity and nature. These themes are planned over four half-days, some of which will be accessible to the general public, in particular this Thursday for the evenings and Friday afternoon on biodiversity and the protection of nature, which is fully accessible in free access.
Two exclusive surveys
Two surveys on questions of ecological transition are presented on this occasion, explains Nicolas Pereira. Two areas have been targeted: “The first is:
Do you think your business is doing enough?
And so, we see that the younger we are, the less we have enough than the company in fact. And conversely, the older we are and the more we consider that the company is doing enough ”.
57% of private sector employees believe that their company is sufficiently committed to environmental protection. And it is mainly construction workers who are the most satisfied.
“The second question relates to the French and their savings. And there, we see that for 59% of French people today, the issue of the environmental issue of investments is an important criterion “. For 77% of the panel questioned, this question has grown in importance with the health crisis.
