JP Lamoureux back after a long break

The EC Red Bull Salzburg will play two home games in the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League this weekend and after the last defeat in the Penalty shoot-out against leaders Ljubljana immediately on the winning road again. On Friday, HC Pustertal Wölfe (7:15 p.m., live stream) and on Sunday, for the first time this season, HC TIWAG Innsbruck “Die Haie” (4:30 p.m., live stream) in the Salzburg ice arena.
Only the leaders of the ICE Hockey League HK SŽ Olimpija Ljubljana managed to stop the Red Bulls’ five-game winning streak last Sunday. In a game in which Salzburg first equalized a 2-goal deficit and then in the final phase had more opportunities for an early victory than the Slovenes. In tomorrow’s home game against Pustertal, the Red Bulls don’t even want to be brought behind and play their own game from the start. That will also be necessary against the table penultimate from South Tyrol, because in the past two meetings of the season the Red Bulls (2nd) had a hard time with the newcomer to the league. Although they won both games in October – first in Bruneck, then at home – they also went into extra time both times.
The latest results show that the offensive team from Bruneck, which has been coached by Finnish ice hockey legend Raimo Helminen for four games after a coaching change, is not to be trifled with; including a 6-2 home win against Bolzano and a 4-3 home win after a penalty shoot-out against the strong Hungarians. Last Sunday, the Pustertaler lost to Villach only after the penalty shoot-out.
So the Red Bulls are preparing for a strong opponent whose performance IS not adequately reflected in the standings. Salzburg striker Jan-Mikael Järvinen: “We played well together as a team recently and are on the right track. But we can get even more out of ourselves and want to implement that tomorrow. Pustertal has a new head coach and the team has played really well with him recently. You will be hungry to improve on the table. But of course we also want the win and we are looking forward to a good game. I expect a tough fight. “
In addition to the latest performance in the league, the Red Bulls also have a significantly fuller lineup again after a long time. In addition to Peter Hochkofler, Mario Huber, Jakub Borzecki and Nicolas Wieser, JP Lamoureux in particular is looking forward to returning to the bench as a goalie backup after a three-month injury break. Aljaž Predan is also ready for action again. Only Vincent LoVerde (ill) will be missing, Paul Huber and Kilian Zündel (not quite fit) are questionable.
The game starts at 7.15 p.m. and can be seen in the paid live stream on the league platform Live.ice.hockey (more on this below).
