Innsbruck – The placement of the work of art on the forecourt of the regional court turned out to be a feat yesterday. The horse torso of the well-known artist Jos Pirkner, a bronze cast that weighs a ton, was delivered by low loader from the foundry in Berlin. A local locksmith company awaits the sculpture by crane and anchored it.

The master, who celebrated his 94th birthday on December 2nd, was not on site, but instructed his workshop manager Peter Gussnig on the basis of the photos sent how to align the sculpture. Pirkner is internationally known as a sculptor, so he created 14 larger than life bulls at the Red Bull headquarters in Fuschl am See. It is the largest bronze sculpture in Europe. Wigbert Zimmermann, Vice President of the Higher Regional Court, in the ways, who is in close contact with Pirkner. Gussnig emphasizes how extraordinary this loan is: “Usually there are no replicas.” The artist’s motto is to keep the objects rare.
President Klaus Schröder followed the installation and described the sculpture as “a gain for Innsbruck”. SHE is also a sign that the judiciary is part of society. For Schröder, culture plays an important mediating role. In 2015, for example, the play “Sophie Scholl” was shown in the courtroom in cooperation with the State Theater. (pla)
