Warsaw: Premiere of “The Night of the Three Kings or What You Want” at the National Theater – on Saturday
In a witty and entertaining way, in line with the spirit of Shakespeare, we talk about this “struggle” of people with self-recognition. With the question: is the love I have for this person authentic? – says PAP Piotr Cieplak, director of “The Three Kings or What You Want”. Premiere at the National Theater – Saturday.
“It will be a playful performance with costumes and masks. Shakespeare already 400 years ago for the fun of these various adventures and written disguises. But this is Shakespeare, and this play in this performance is lined with the same deeper thought, Cieplak told PAP.
“In a witty and entertaining way, in line with the author’s spirit, but nevertheless we tell about this + struggle + of people with the recognition of everyone. The first question is: are these feelings, the love that I have for this person authentic? Do I love it or am I in love with my own falling in love? “- me.
He pointed out that “the unexpected vicissitudes that Shakespeare identified consist of changing roles and gender.” “We have twins – a girl Viola and a boy Sebastian. The child is dressing up as a little boy. A woman falls in love with this disguised boy, ”he said.
“In short, this pyramidal wheel – despite the fact that it is cheerful in tone – is nevertheless a parable about human nature; o that in the presence of not gender, but a concrete key, it means that the object proper to love” – director.
According to Cieplak, “the nature of love is rich and difficult”. “In this play, and thanks to this author, we talk about love in a multidimensional way. Many of these keys, many theaters at the same time launching Shakespeare – and my traces behind him are a few tips and those which sounds, skills, which have good sides, we achieve in our performance” – rating.
“I gladly repeat the order of the play when the Prince, a concert for the orchestra, says: + if he is fed on the food of music – play! +. He noted that “from the first bars, pages, words uttered in words to them music”.
“Together with the composer Jan Duszyński, we tried to use playback to provide a translation into music. “But we also play with Mozart in fragments of + Don Gioni +” – further.
Cieplak noted that “the music in the performance has many different shades”.
“Viola, miraculously rescued from a ship wrecked off the coast of Illyria, wears a female and same-sex sailing in Orsino, Sweden. The prince is tormented by the mourning Oliva. itself, and life is hidden precisely in this politeness … ”- we read about the performance of the play.
It was announced that the performance would be well filled with “love intrigues, role swaps, games of appearances, sound frenzy”. “Piotr Cieplak stages + The Evening of Three or What You Want +, bringing out the musicality of one of William Shakespeare’s most important comedies” – it was written.
As it was noted, “music flows from the stage, there are love elations and disappointments”. “In a variety of tones, he turns to the art of theater, as well as interhuman theater seasoned with irony and melancholy” –
“I call on laughter and the power of singing and music for help. On sale, you can talk about a performance somewhere between opera buffa, operetta and a musical” – said Cieplak, quoted on the Theater website.
“Exhibit + Epiphany + to play with the complications experienced today. “- director.
The announcement emphasized that “the inextricable intertwining of music and dreams or existential vicissitudes – for loving constant disguises, changing roles and gender takes the prescribed character” and “allows you to throw new light on calculating emotional fever and trying to discover your own identity.”
