The worst situation will be in hospitals at Christmas. Prague is asking for 300 paramedics

According to some models, the situation in Prague hospitals should be the worst on Christmas Day. Prague is therefore asking for the help of 300 health professionals. In the program Napřímo, the mayor of the capital Zdeněk Hřib talked about it with the moderator Bára Divišová on Wednesday on TN LIVE.
“In the election campaign, I recorded the slogan that there will be no lockdown. So I’m curious, we’ll see,” said Zdeněk Hřib (Pirates). At the same time, he revealed predictions that reveal what will happen next. “The biggest problems in Prague hospitals are to occur on December 24, ie on Christmas Day,” according to these models, mainly paramedics will come out.
“It will be the peak of the hospital’s staff basically. It will run out of staff and it will be very problematic, also because the nurses are very exhausted and frustrated. The mood in society has changed against the nurses,” the mayor explained.
Therefore, Prague will address outpatient specialists. “I could order them, but I believe there will be enough volunteers. The hospitals have asked for 150 doctors and 150 nurses. They need help mainly with vaccination centers, testing centers and antibody applications,” Hřib described.
The mushroom also spoke of the government’s decision to ban Christmas markets, which was shocking to many. The measure came the day before the markets started. Prague 1 solved it in its own way. As a result, the markets fit into a cultural event and they continue to operate merrily.
The mayor of Prague, Zdeněk Hřib (Pirates), called on the resigned Minister of Health to reconsider the decision. “I called on the Minister of Health, Adam Vojtěch, to reconsider the measures concerning the Christmas markets. Now it doesn’t make sense, people don’t understand it, and that’s why it doesn’t work,” Hřib wrote on his twitter.
“The measure only applies to markets that are named as Christmas and not to farmers’ markets. It is a matter of adjusting the measure so that it makes sense,” Hřib in Napřímo explained. As a compromise, he proposes to ban food and drink on the spot.
The regulation is somewhat discriminatory at the moment. “It restricts stallholders, local entrepreneurs, while it does not apply to multinational chains in shopping centers,” said the mayor of the capital. Vojtěch reacted to his statement so that the measure is completely in order and the problem is with those people.
Brno helps stallholders. It opened virtual Christmas markets
According to the mayor, however, the problem is that the ministry explained its steps to the people. “Then you can’t expect people to follow it if they don’t understand the regulations,” Hrib added. According to him, the solution can be either a ban on consuming food and drink as in the dining corners of the shopping center, the same rules as in pubs, ie consumption is possible only for vaccinated or after a covid-19 or limiting the number of people.
At the moment, Hřib is waiting for a proposal for compensation for entrepreneurs. According to him, however, compensation will not be enough, because it will pay off, but not the human work behind it. “We will try to buy some goods in order to make some packages for paramedics, for example. Or use them so that it is not completely liquidated for the people who are affected,” outlined the plan of the city of Prague Hřib.
