the heart of the new music beats in Athens, with power from the Roof
How does symphonic music meet the future and the electronic sound of tomorrow? What are the new instruments that will dynamically enter the scene of the world music scene? Sound installations, speeches, concerts, polyphonic bands, international appearances. December is the month that the music audience expects to feel the vibes to give to the whole world of music with a festival that will make the heart of Athens beat loudly. December 3 to 5, from the Small Stock Exchange of Athens, the National Library, the Romance and various areas of the Roof and over 10 events Tectonics is here for the 3rd year.
In 2012 in Reykjavik, Iceland, the Tectonics Festival debuted. Since then he has already counted 27 events in various cities around the world. The main “orchestrator” of this multidimensional effort is the famous conductor Ilan Volkov, who inaugurated the festival with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra.
At the core of the festival, from the beginning until now, is the new music and its connection with classical orchestral music, improvisations, performances and new instruments that can emerge.
In addition to developing a wide international network of artists and deepening their work, the festival also focuses on the local scene, creating new and unusual news for artists and audiences to meet and develop a new relationship.
This year’s edition of Tectonics is curated by Ilan Volkov, Anne Hilde Neset and Michalis Moschoutis.
