Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift and Bad Bunny topped the charts for the year on Apple Music and Spotify. Pop singer Olivia Rodrigo has become a sensation in Britain and new in the whole world this year. In Russia, the most popular track of the year was the song “Cristal & MOЁT” by rapper Morgenstern.
Olivia Rodrigo, according to both services, took first place in Briania this year in terms of the number of streams with the pop-punk song Good 4U, which gained popularity in Tiktok. Her hit Driver’s License became the most popular song in the world by Spotify.
South Korean boyband BTS is more popular among Apple Music users. Their song Dynamite became the most popular song in the world according to the service.
British artists are fully represented in the world charts – Dua Lipa with the album Future Nostalgia took the second place on Spotify after Olivia Rodrigo Sour’s disc.
Ed Sheeran’s Bad Habits, released during the summer’s lockdowns cancellation, ranked third globally by Spotify, but 53rd on Apple Music, with only a majority of its audience being American.
There are no Russian performers in the top ten. The new album and single of the singer Adele did not have time to enter there, however, in the last month, the singer of 2021 may still be in the top ten: her fourth album 30 occupies the first lines of the charts in the USA and Britain.
According to Spotify, the most popular artist in the world is the overall Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny. In second place is Taylor Swift, who released new versions of her old albums this year.
V Of Russia the charts are dominated by rappers. According to Spotify, Alisher Morgenstern has become the most popular performer in the country. The Russian top 5 songs on Spotify looks like this:
