Portugal is in a state of calamity
As of today Portugal is in a state of calamity. To control the pandemic, several measures take effect.
The use of a mask is mandatory in all closed spaces and in all areas not excepted by the Directorate-General for Health.
For access to restaurants, tourist accessories, local accommodation, events with marked seats and gyms, it is mandatory to present a digital vaccination certificate.
A negative test for covid-19 is still required for access to nursing homes; visits to patients hospitalized in the disabled; large events without marked seats (or in improvised venues) and sports venues; clubs and bars.
At the borders a negative test for covid-19 is mandatory. In the case of land borders, the National Republican Guard (GNR) and the Foreigners and Borders Service (SEF) will carry out random inspection operations at the crossing points.
Those who do not present certificates are notified to carry out a screening test for the SARS-CoV-2 virus at their own expense in places indicated by the health authorities, which must be located within a radius of 30 kilometers from the inspection site and where citizens are located. They must wait for the respective result.
Refusal to take the test is sanctioned with a fine of 300 to 800 euros.
