‘Maltese Falcon’ Charter for Access to Waldorf Astoria in Maldives – Robb Report
Renting a superyacht is always a good time, but it is even better when you are also given access to one of the most luxurious hotels in the Maldives.
This winter, SuperYachtsMonaco and Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi are offering an unparalleled on-board charter experience. Maltese Falcon which includes an indulling spot at the five-star secluded resort.
With this new partnership, all charter guests will be given an idyllic day pass. Waldorf Astoria which includes the entire island of Ithaafushi south of Male Atoll. No other day visitors will be allowed on the private island while you are there, which means you only need to share the facilities with overnight guests.
While visiting, you can walk through 11 different dining options, ranging from a beach club with a DJ to a quality Levantine restaurant to the signature Waldorf Astoria lounge. You can also make use of the hotel’s aqua wellness center and spa to rejuvenate or dive center for some underwater fun.
But access to the resort is really just a sweet spot for a stay on board Maltese Falcon. Launched by Perini Navi in 2006, this 289 footer is still considered the most radical sailing yacht in the world and has won a number of awards, including Robb report‘s Best of the Best in 2007. This winter marks the first time in history that it will leave Europe to go to the heat of Asia-Pacific.
The 12-year-old really gives sailors the best of both worlds — that is, the luxury and comfort of a motor yacht combined with the performance and speed of a sailor. The elegant interior, created by Ken Freivokh, features a full-beam master and five double suites that together can sleep up to 12 guests. Elsewhere, there is a personal trainer gym, as well as a full-service spa with a hair salon and a massage room. The superyacht also features a spectacular art collection and a full range of water toys.
With regard to grunt, Maltese Falcon it has three “Dyna Rig” giant rotating masts each supporting five sails. This setup gives it an impressive top speed of 18 knots, a moderate speed of 14 knots and a range of 3,000 nautical miles.
The hardest part will be deciding how to divide your time between the resort and the yacht.
Maltese Falcon can be rented for approximately $ 522,000– $ 590,000 (€ 460,000– € 520,000) per week. This particular membership is only available during the winter.
