The first issue of the collection “APPUNTI DI STORIA Tales and memories of the twentieth century” was published by the OLTRE Foundation.
The initiative is part of the cultural dissemination activity promoted by the OLTRE Foundation with the aim of recovering collective memory through the power of a narrative which, as in this case, is openly inspired by the characters of civil narration. Stories told by those who have experienced them personally, or who have known them through the mouths of the protagonists, or from family and social news, from the testimonies that from generation to generation form the mosaic of cultural identity and its main canons and reference values.
This first issue is entrusted to the memories of a formidable over 80 year old from San Marino, Giuseppina Tamagnini who, in this short story, recalls the San Marino of her childhood during the Fascist period, the tragic bombing of June 26, 1944 and the passage of the front. Hard and difficult times in which, however, alongside grief and destruction, one can catch the glimpses of a solidary and generous humanity.
The text is corrected by images made available by the Tamagnini family and by the large collection of Secondo Cesarini, collector of books, brochures and publications on the San Marino theme. The graphic design is the work of Riccardo Zani Faetanini.
The publication will be on sale starting today at the main bookstores and newsstands of the Republic.
