GLOSA: It is said that Prague is fighting a little closer
Not so long ago, politicians told us that they were fighting for Prague near Kabul, Afghanistan. I have never understood much how trying to impose a system of democratic order on Pashtuns, Khazars and other nations in the distant mountains and the values they reject has something to do with what is happening in Prague, but on the other hand to destroy the terrorists who sought to spread. her religious beliefs around the world are killing us in European cities, she certainly had her justification. However, we are now learning from a member of the future government that Prague is now fighting for the Polish border, on Belarusian territory. It is certainly closer than distant Kabul, but the logic of this statement is less convincing.
Travel agency clients, airline passengers and those who paid considerable money to smugglers gathered on the Polish border with Belarus to get to a better world across Polish territory than the one in which they still live. It is a disgrace to the current world order that there are travel agencies, airlines and, ultimately, governments that suffer or even allow this. The soldiers defending their country are probably faced with deceived people with their children. None of us can like such a situation, and none of us would want to put our family in such a situation. And certainly many of us would like to help, however paradoxically, everyone who has found themselves in such a situation: children freezing somewhere in the Belarusian forests, but also soldiers defending their country.
But we should definitely not accept the claim that we are fighting for our interests here, for Prague! After all, who would be the fighter “for Prague” in this encounter – poor refugees striving for a better life or defending the border of their country? We certainly should not have seen politicians and various activists, with their phrases, often meaningful, often holding us accountable for what we ourselves reject and hate, to teach us, from our attitude of some kind of moral superiority, that we are unwilling, racist. and xenophobic, as is happening more and more often now. Let’s not let go!
