“Municipal police, the new mercenaries”: this is the title of a new episode of ” Further investigation “ which will be broadcast this Thursday, December 2, 2021, in the second part of the evening, on France 2.
In the footsteps of municipal police officers
For this 52-minute investigation, Damien Fleurette and Wendy Zbinden investigated the whole of France to get to know the municipal police better: training, efficiency, carrying a weapon, the journalists looked behind the scenes of the country’s third security force.
And part of this report was shot at Toulouse where some 330 municipal police officers work. In the report, the journalists focus more particularly on the integrated security contract that the Pink City was the first to sign, in October 2020.
The integrated security contract in question
A contract signed by the mayor Jean-Luc Moudenc and the prime minister Jean Castex which should make it possible to curb the increase in delinquency Toulouse and which notably confirms the arrival of 111 new national police officers by 2025. In this contract, the Pink City has also committed to an increase in the number of municipal police.
“Partnership” for some, “blackmail” for others, the journalists question the tenants of this integrated security contract by going in particular to meet Jean-Luc Moudenc andAntoine Maurice, elected from the opposition.
Cooperation with the national police
A sequence shot in the Arnaud-Bernard district also shows how the two fonts work together in Toulouse.
The program presented by Tristan Waleckx will be broadcast on France 2, at 11 pm, on December 2, 2021. This is not the first time that a national channel has taken an interest in the municipal police officers of Toulouse: in October 2020, the program “Enquête d’affaires”, broadcast on W9, had intended for them a special issue with an immersion survey.
