Černý Most: The city has opened a new parking lot for those outside Prague
“Parking house offers space for cars, which would otherwise have to go downtown. The car park is just a few minutes’ walk from the Černý Most metro station. Area and P + R car parks are important transport structures within the city’s infrastructure, “said Scheinherr.
Gas cars and electric cars
In Chlumecký there was originally a common parking lot with about 300 places. There is now a parking house on its site. Of the total number, 89 spaces are intended for parking cars on gas. Another 22 seats are reserved for the disabled and 18 seats for parents with children, which are special wider seats. Eight places will be used for charging electric cars. The house also has 28 places for motorcycles and a lockable place where cyclists can store their bikes.
Since the commissioning of the parking house, the City Hall of Prague 14 has been promising a drop in the number of cross-country drivers’ cars on its streets. “Prague 14 it does not have paid parking zones, so there is no regulation in our streets“Hukal. The town hall has problems especially in the streets near the metro station, within walking distance of 300 or 400 meters. In Prague 14, another 101 places were recently created in Chlumecká, where the unused parking lane was canceled. Another two dozen places were created at the tram loop in Lehovec.
Other places
The city is building a new P + R car park at the Prague-Hostivař railway station, where there will be 78 parking spaces. The next one will be in Opatov in the South Town, where the city is now finalizing project constructions. Another parking house will be built in Zličín and Dědina in Prague 6, but it will only be used by residents.
There are about twenty parking lots in the territory of Prague and they are operated by the city company Technická správa komunikací (TSK).
