Now it’s rocking in Lugano: Alessio Bertaggia (28) is moving to Geneva with a five-year contract, Eliva Riva (23) is moving to Lugano for two years.
The “earthquake insurance” does not pay: Lugano’s sports director Hnat Domenichelli was not ready to meet Alessio Bertaggia’s demands. And so he accepts the political earthquake caused by the departure of his international striker.
The son of the club legend Sandro Bertaggia, his own junior, leaves Lugano. He has only left the club for three years: two seasons he played at the highest North American junior level and one season in Zug (2013/14).

During the following season he moved from the EVZ to Lugano and has become a figure of identification. But not so important that the wise President Vicky Mantegazza can meet the financial demands as “earthquake insurance”. Obviously, Lugano is no longer getting involved in price gouging.
Tomorrow Servette will proudly announce that Alessio Bertaggia has signed a multi-year contract. Informers from Geneva report with the utmost discretion: It is a five-year contract. When asked, Hnat Domenichelli said: «Alessio has informed us that he is leaving us. He didn’t want to say where he signed. ” That is the reason why the chronicler asked the informants in Geneva. Lo and behold: it was a direct hit.
For Alessio Bertaggia, this move to Servette can make sense: a new city, a new club, a new, important role, new inspiration and yet another sporting improvement.
The international striker hasn’t really gotten into shape this season in Lugano. With nine scorer points he is simply number nine in the club’s internal scorer list and with three goals even only number eleven of the goalscorers. As big as the political earthquake after his departure may be – the sporting void he leaves is smaller than the polemics surrounding this transfer.

But defender Elia Riva remains. He has extended for two years in Lugano. He is one of the most talented defenders with a Swiss passport. In terms of sport, he is much more important to Lugano than Alessio Bertaggia.

December 1st, 2007 After the three-week national team break and a short-term training camp in Cyprus, the bottom of the table, FC St.Gallen, entered the championship in good spirits. But YB and the unleashed Hakan Yakin quickly turn out to be nightmare opponents.
In the 76th minute, a curiosity occurred in the game between FC St.Gallen and the Bernese Young Boys in the venerable Espenmoos stadium. When Hakan Yakin is replaced by his trainer Martin Andert, it is not only the crowded guest sector that says goodbye to the YB playmaker with thunderous applause. But also the otherwise fanatical St.Gallen home crowd, which does not have the reputation of being particularly fair.
