The new FC Barcelona coach, Xavi Hernandez has reportedly asked Catalan management to activate for the winter transfer window, with two players in the sights, including Hakim Ziyech. According to the Spanish media sport, specializing in information on the Catalan club, although Raheem Sterling, at the height of his 26 years, is already one of the club’s priorities for this winter, Barca are very interested in certain elements of Chelsea.
“FC Barcelona would have contacted the London club again to be able to enlist Hakim Ziyech (28), all with acceptable financial conditions for Barça”, adds the Spanish media. The Iberian daily specifies that Chelsea could even “help FC Barcelona to carry out this transaction” and would be “ready to pay part of the transaction to part with it” from one of the two players. Indeed, if the negotiations between Hakim Ziyech and FC Barcelona do not lead to an agreement, Chelsea could propose another striker: Timo Werner, we add.
Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel said last week the London club “have no intention of letting Moroccan Hakim Ziyech go in January”. “At the moment, here at Cobham (Chelsea training center, note), there is no reflection on his future. You don’t think of a potential change, or an exchange or anything else in winter, ”he said. “Hakim did not come to my office to express such a wish, so for now he is a full member of the squad,” stressed the Chelsea manager.
The 28-year-old winger has been the subject of many rumors since the transfer window reopened, with names always coming up like AC Milan but Tuchel was adamant with the player being part of his plans and “he remains at least until the end of the season ”.
