University of Zurich imposes a general mask requirement

The University of Zurich is reacting to the increasing number of Covid 19 cases. From Wednesday (December 1st) masks will be worn in your rooms, even on occasions where a certificate is required. The aim is to be able to finish the semester in an orderly manner.
So when all people at the university put on a mask who can prove a vaccination, recovery from Covid-19 or a negative test with a certificate. This is what the university writes on its website. The measure had been decided by the university management.
There are exceptions for lecturers when speaking and for other people during a presentation. The speakers must adhere to the hygiene and distance rules. The mask can also be placed at the workplace in non-public indoor spaces.
The aim of the measure is that the students can finish their semester in an orderly manner, according to the message. Until February 2022, students and employees of the university can have themselves tested for the coronavirus free of charge and thus gain access to events that require a certificate.
