For nearly 30 years of development in Occitania, the Institut Catholique d’Arts et Métiers de Toulouse has a new campus with an area of 8,000 m2.
For a total amount of 26 million euros, the Toulouse Multidisciplinary Engineering School has just inaugurated its new campus. The students and staff of the School of Engineering now benefit from new spaces at the service of educational innovation and projects with companies, a new residence as well as a complete renovation of the production school.
Born from a partnership with Toulouse Métropole Habitat, the extension, inaugurated on Monday, allowed the creation of a new educational building, a new residence consisting of 76 housing units as well as a fully renovated workshop allowing ‘Host simultaneously the 2 sections that make up the production school: “The idea of this project was to show the entire development of ICAM on its real estate assets and all of its specificities. coworking space, the Fablab or the residence, it is about developing the capacity of students to live together because we are convinced that “living together” is a key element in the profession of engineer ” explains Jean-Denis Falise, director of the Toulouse site. Open in Toulouse since 1993, ICAM wishes to put the pupil at the center of the educational system by promoting autonomy, practice and experimentation to the detriment of old classic sessions: lessons, tutorials / practical work. A digital manufacturing laboratory, the new ICAM campus also hosts centers dedicated to research and business services. A brand new project in the service of its development and its pedagogy which will ultimately accommodate 1,200 students compared to 950 today.
