The first batch of the Russian Sputnik Light coronavirus vaccine was delivered to the Republic of San Marino, the Republic’s Institute for Social Security (ISS) said in a note to the Sputnik agency. San Marino registered the single-component vaccine developed by the Gamaleya Center a week ago. As pointed out in the ISS, the specialists’ recommendation is to use a booster dose at least 5 months after the end of the primary vaccination course. “Usage will most likely be after December 10,” a representative of the institute said. He recalled that vaccination against Covid with the Russian vaccine does not give the right to receive the Italian green pass. The Italian Ministry of Health has previously granted a San Marino exemption until 31 December and to obtain green certification receive the 3rd dose of the vaccine with one of the anti-Covid serums approved by the European health authorities. The ISS also reports that, as part of an agreement with Italy, the republic has received 1,100 doses of the Pfizer vaccine. Currently 83.4% of over 30 thousand citizens of San Marino have completed the entire vaccine cycle. Just over 3 thousand citizens have already received the booster dose.
