Russian mobile operators VimpelCom (Beeline brand), MegaFon and Tele2 stopped connecting subscribers to tariffs with unlimited mobile Internet, MTS has this new option on only two premium tariffs. Writes about it Forbes…
Representatives of VimpelCom and MegaFon told the publication that there is no such possibility in their current tariff plans, Tele2 noted that the operator removed it many months ago. At the same time, the representative of “MegaFon” explained that after connecting, he can call the contact center and ask to connect the unlimited Internet, but the publication does not specify on what conditions.
At the same time, cellular operators noted that the lack of the ability to connect to unlimited tariffs does not apply to existing subscribers of current tariffs.
Earlier, the general director of TMT Consulting, Konstantin Ankilov, warned that more than half of corporate mobile numbers of Russians (16 million) should be disconnected from communication services after December 1. Disconnections can occur due to violation of the Law “On Communications”, which regulates the turnover of gray SIM cards. According to the amendments to the law introduced in December 2020, corporate subscribers enter information about the end users of SIM cards into the unified identification and authentication system (ESIA) of the State Services portal. As Ankilov said, more than half of the customers of mobile operators have not yet done this.
