Inflation in Portugal to rise to 2.6% in November – Economy
INE contextualizes that the underlying information indicator – the total index excluding unprocessed food and energy products – must have registered a change of 1.8%, compared to 1.1% in October.
It is estimated that, in November, energy was responsible for a good part of the rise in prices: the year-on-year rate of change in the index for energy products is estimated at 14.2%. In October, the rate of change in these energy products was 13.4%. With regard to unprocessed food products, a variation of 0.8% is estimated.
The variation in the consumer price index must have been fixed at 0.5%, an identical value in October 2021. In November 2020, the variation in the CPI was -0.3%.
The harmonized consumer price index (HICP) in Portugal must have registered a year-on-year change of 2.7%.
This quick estimate on the November publication already sensed that most pensions are expected to rise in January.
The final data on the news will only be known on December 14th.
