In the Republic of Moldova, the administration of anticovid serum buster doses has started
The Institute of Emergency Medicine in Chisinau began administering to its doctors on November 30 the booster dose of vaccine against COVID-19. The post TV Journal reports that they are the first doctors vaccinated with booster dose in the Republic of Moldova.
By the end of the week, about 300 doctors will have this dose at the Institute of Emergency Medicine. On November 24, the Moldovan medical authorities authorized the booster dose and the additional dose of vaccine against the new coronavisrus, which can be administered from November 29.
The extra dose is given to people who have a weakened immune system and do not develop a strong enough immune response four weeks after the second dose. The booster dose is given to people who have completed the primary vaccination schedule at six months for vaccines with a two-dose primary regimen and at least two months (56 days) for the Janssen / Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
Employees of health care facilities, staff and beneficiaries of asylums and temporary or long-term placement centers, adults over the age of 60 and others at risk are eligible for the booster dose.
On the first day after the start of the booster dose and the additional dose of anti-COVID-19, 812 people were vaccinated. Medical authorities also said that the vaccination rate with the complete scheme against COVID-19 exceeded, in the Republic of Moldova, 27%. But the vaccination campaign is slow. In the last week, 23,000 doses of vaccine have been administered.
